MITACS ACCELERATE is a nationally-acclaimed internship program, which connects companies, governments and community organizations with the vast research expertise in Canada’s universities.
The intern, a graduate student or post-doctoral fellow in any discipline, spends 4 to 24 months working with the company and under the supervision of a faculty supervisor, and investigates a research challenge crucial to the company. Companies only contribute half of the internship cost ($7,500 for a 4-month project). The internships are jointly financed by MITACS Inc, thanks to funding from the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, and support from the Federal Government.
